INSERTS AND ORDERING CODES

Most of our orders start with a basic seat and back combined. We term this a basic insert. It is attached at the front of the seat and top of the backrest using adjustable brackets mounted onto the wheelchair frame and removed by releasing the retaining knobs and sliding off the forks. The seat and back are joined together with a hinged bracket unless requested otherwise. This bracket may be flush or inset by 1.5" over the top of the seat.

Please remember, this alters the seat depth significantly. The hinge allows the seat and back to open flat. If a full reverse fold is required, upcharged flip back brackets must be ordered.

It is also possible to keep the seat and back mounted independently. This means removing the hinged bracket and ordering additional mounting hardware or simply ordering the seat and back as separate items.

All of the previous choices for seat and backs listed in (1) and (2) are available when specifying an insert combination. Please use the prescriber form. Please remember 1.5" of seat depth is lost to the backrest.
